  • Debenham Roundabout has higher ratios of key workers to children and focuses primarily on child enrichment based on a curriculum tailored to their individual needs. The preschool is also set in an open, green space allowing children to explore and learn, as well as being surrounded by nature.

  • We have staff trained as SENCOs and Makaton. For more information on each member of the team, please visit our Meet the Team page.

  • Yes, you can split your hours between us and the nursery at Sir Robert Hitcham or any other setting. Please just let us know so we can communicate with the other setting.

  • We currently do not have a uniform. We recommend wearing old, comfy clothes which you don’t getting messy!

    An invoice will be sent to you each month and we ask that the invoice is paid via BACS within two weeks.

  • If you have any issues with paying your fees on time please do not hesitate to contact us: debenhamrps@btinternet.com. We will work with you to try and create a plan to help you pay them.

  • Both follow The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).

    Schools are not bound to the same ratios. Our Preschool for 3 years plus is 1:8 but in schools this might be 1:13.

    We focus on child led learning through play. A school nursery might follow topic led learning.

  • The committee ensures that major decision making is in the hands of the parents who use the preschool. They review policies and practice of the preschool, as well as the employment and appraisals on the staff. One major focus of the committee is to organise fundraising events which are key to help run and fund the preschool.

  • During the Summer term we focus on preparing our school leavers for Primary School. During this time we offer varied but more structured activities to help them prepare for the demands of school life. Children will be given their own book to practice letter formation and phonics. We will also take part in more mathematical games. Finally we will also take part in mini PE lessons.

  • Your first contact would be your child’s keyworker, who you can contact to discuss any matters concerning your child. Our manager is also on hand to discuss any matters which may be concerning you and you can contact them by telephone or email at any time to arrange a meeting.
