Keeping with our Garden theme, we went for a woodland walk to give opportunities explore and investigate our natural environment.
The children had buckets to collect their findings, such as leaves, twigs, bark etc.. These were used for the next session to make collages – creating a woodland display based on their own first hand experiences.
The children showed good listening skills, following instructions when talking about safety when collecting items outside.
The children were encouraged to think about what we find in soil – animals such as worms, and stones, seeds, plants and roots – using their senses to investigate and explore, learning descriptive language.
