September Newsletter

Welcome back to the new school year at Roundabout. Hope you have all managed to find some sunshine and have had a good holiday.

We’ll be welcoming some new families to our group this term and we hope they’ll soon settle in and get to know us.

This term we’ll be talking about our homes. We’ll be setting up a D.I.Y. shop in the themed area with wallpaper and various tools. We’ll be encouraging the children to look at patterns and colours as well as measuring, counting and doing lots of writing! Any donations of wallpaper or old brushes and rollers are always welcome!

We will be featuring a different room in our home each week on the interest table. We’ll be starting off with the story ‘Peace At Last’ which is all about a teddy who can’t sleep and tries all the different rooms in his house which are all too noisy. All the items on the table are from a story sack that we’ve put together and these props really help bring the story to life. We’re happy for you to borrow one of our story sacks. We also have number sacks and letter/sound bags. Please just ask a member of staff if you’d like to take one home.

The garden has undergone a transformation in the summer holidays. We have a new play house and we have replaced our old climbing frame. We have also been able to replace the old fence. We plan to improve the area even further when we have raised the necessary funds. The pre-school committee have worked hard this year, raising the funds we have needed to complete this work. Thanks to all of you for supporting the events. We hope to see lots of new faces on the committee in the year ahead. Please ask if you would like to get involved or come along to our A.G.M. on October 2nd at 7:30p.m.

Congratulations to Pip who has achieved a foundation degree in children’s care, learning and development. She is now working towards her BA Honours degree in Early Learning which she hopes to complete next year.

Thanks to all of you who have responded to our parent/carer survey. We really value the comments and suggestions you have made. Please remember that you can talk to us at any time if you have concerns about any aspect of your child’s care and education.

Best wishes,

Fiona, Kath, Pip, Jo and Beccy
