Thank you :-)

Just to say thank you for attending parent’s evening on Monday. It was great to share your child’s  Learning Journey’s with you and talk about their progress.  Just a reminder that the Learning Journey’s are available to view at anytime.  If you wish to discuss your child’s progress and were unable to make it to the Parent’s evening, please feel free to arrange a convenient time with your child’s Key Person.

Thank you also to the committee for helping with refreshments!

Stay and Play

Dear all,

Just a reminder that the Stay and Play sessions are on Wednesday the 12th December 2:00 – 3:00pm and Friday 14th December 9:00 – 10:00am. It is a great opportunity to join in with some Christmas craft activities with your child. Please return the reply slips as soon as possible, if you have not already done so, to give us an idea of how many are able to attend.  All children and parents/carers are welcome. Children who do not usually attend on these sessions will be required to have a parent/carer with them.

Once again, we would like to thank everyone for taking to time to keep us informed should their child have come into contact with chicken pox, measles, shingles and the live nasal flu vaccination.  It is now fine for your child to attend regarding the live nasal flu vaccination, but please continue to inform us if your child has come into contact with chicken pox, measles and shingles. Again thank you for your vigilance and help.

Parent’s Evening Monday 3rd December

Thank you for your response in booking appointments with your child’s Key Person. It is a great opportunity to discuss your child’s development and any issues you may have regarding your child’s progress.

Preparing Snack

The children are helping  to prepare snack at Pre school.  This is not only a fun, engaging activity for them – it is a great way to develop pride and confidence in their skills and abilities.  It also encourages independence while learning about the foods we eat and how to keep healthy.

Den Building

The children enjoyed time in the woods this week.  A small group engaged in den building; lots of lovely collaborative play, giving opportunities to express themselves effectively and taking into account one another’s ideas about how to organise their activity.

It was great to see good communication skills and friendships developing.

Enabling environments

When children feel emotionally safe and secure they are able to explore and find out about the place they are in and the things they can see, touch, manoeuvre or manipulate. (Early Years Matters)

While the children spend their time at Pre-school we are privileged to be part of and capture special moments which we link to their development and provide further learning opportunities.  This photo is a good example of just one those special moments and wanted to share! Children learn better when they feel happy, safe and secure.

Minibeast hunters

During our woodland morning today the children were minibeast hunters! They learned about the creatures habitats. Shaded by the trees the area is ideal for finding worms, slugs and snails. The explorers were fascinated by the creatures, being able to get up close to view them and handling them –  with care.

Thank You & Farewell

I would like to thank everyone from the bottom of my heart for all the kindness and generosity that everyone has shown me over the past few weeks but especially during my last working week.

I was completely overwhelmed by the farewell get togethers and it meant so much to me that people wanted to come out and say goodbye!  I was also truly humbled (and a little embarrassed!) by the vast array of leaving gifts and was left quite speechless (which I’m sure the team will tell you is a little unusual!)  I still don’t really know what to say apart from another enormous thank you and I feel lucky to have been involved with such a wonderful group for so long,  Roundabout is indeed a very special place.

With kindest regards, Pip x
