I would like to thank everyone from the bottom of my heart for all the kindness and generosity that everyone has shown me over the past few weeks but especially during my last working week.
I was completely overwhelmed by the farewell get togethers and it meant so much to me that people wanted to come out and say goodbye! I was also truly humbled (and a little embarrassed!) by the vast array of leaving gifts and was left quite speechless (which I’m sure the team will tell you is a little unusual!) I still don’t really know what to say apart from another enormous thank you and I feel lucky to have been involved with such a wonderful group for so long, Roundabout is indeed a very special place.
With kindest regards, Pip x
We look forward to seeing you back at Pre-school on Tuesday 30th October and have pleasure in welcoming our new preschool leader, Chloe Brinkley to the team!
On Friday we said a fond farewell to Pip! The committee, parents, children and staff gathered to give gifts and well wishes. It was an emotional day which just shows how much she will be missed and are grateful for all Pip has achieved since joining Debenham Roundabout Pre-school. We wish her every success in her new chapter.
This week we have been singing and signing “Down in the Jungle” It’s lovely to see the children joining in with the actions. We still continue to use signs with songs from the previous weeks and the children are picking it up very well 🙂

Free play is giving children opportunities where they are independently creating experiences, learning about the world around them and interacting with other people. This picture taken is a lovely way to showcase this.
A small group of children were engaging in free play where they were, “Having a BBQ”. A social event unfolded, sharing out food for their friends, discussing ideas and thinking about the needs of others. It’s great to step back sometimes and quietly observe, allowing children freedom to express themselves 🙂
Nasal spray live flu vaccination.
Earlier in the term, we sent you a letter asking for your help by letting us know if your child comes into contact with anyone with measles, chicken pox or shingles. We really appreciate the contact we have had from our families in response to this letter.
As the winter fast approaches, children are now being offered a live flu vaccination in the form of a nasal spray. As one of the children in our pre-school is receiving medical treatment for cancer this puts them at risk if they are exposed to this live vaccination (when administered by nasal spray) if they are not vaccinated themselves. As the vaccination process is currently underway across the county, please could you let us know immediately if your child has had or is due to have the vaccination.
We do hope that you understand the health and wellbeing of the child in our care who is at risk does depend on the co-operation of all other parents and we hope you will help us. We will keep you updated once we have received some more instructions and advice.
Once again, we would like to thank everyone for taking to time to keep us informed should their child have come into contact with chicken pox, measles, shingles and the live nasal flu vaccination.
If you have any queries, then please do not hesitate to contact us.
With kind regards
Firstly a reminder that tomorrow, Friday 5th October, the Year 6 children in the Primary School are hosting a coffee morning to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. To help support this very worthwhile cause we have asked if they could supply us with some buns / biscuits for our snack. If you would like to show your support and send in some pennies on the morning to help them fund-raise for this event, we know they would be very grateful.
Secondly, if your child had their photo taken by Tempest Photography on Monday 24th September, and you have not yet returned your order form, please do so asap, as we hope to send the order off at the middle of next week. If you would rather order them online at your own time, that is absolutely fine!
Don’t forget its the preschool AGM on Thursday 11th October at 7:30pm.
If you would like to join the committee or find out whats involved, please come along. Everyone is welcome.
Hopefully we will see you there.
