Week Beginning 27th November 2017

This week we are looking at and talking about construction toys.  In the water we can play with the aqua play canal and in the sand we can use the diggers and dumper trucks.

The activities this week will include: concert practice in the school hall, making wall paper for the Christmas corner, watching the Nursery play, making Christmas tree’s for the church, cutting and sticking, board games, bubble print baubles and Christmas card printing.

Week Beginning 20th November 2017

This week we are looking at and talking about technology toys.  In the water we can discover floating and sinking and in the sand we can play with a car chute.

The activities this week will include:  a concert practice, making concert props, woodland play, leaf painting, making Christmas trees for the church display, parachute games, chopping and roasting vegetables for a Thanksgiving snack and making big pictures on the floor.

A big thank you!

We’d like to say a big ‘thank you’ for all the donations we have received both today and throughout the week, we raised £21.54 for Children in Need.  We had lots of people wearing ‘spots’ or Pudsey outfits and we talked about Pudsey Bear helping some children who weren’t quite as lucky as us and that the money that we were giving might help to make them a little bit happier.  We paid a visit to see our friends at Nursery during the morning and explored their garden.  We played with bikes, builder’s toys, hurdles and in their huge sandpit before coming back to
pre-school for our snack.
Thank you again everyone and we hope you have a lovely weekend!

Committee Newsletter

Welcome to our first committee newsletter

We’ll use this newsletter to keep you updated on what we’re doing to support the pre-school. If you’d like to join the committee or be added to our list of helpers, please come along to our next meeting or speak to a committee member at one of the upcoming events (details below).

You’ll be aware that the majority of our fundraising over the past few years has been to renovate the pre-school garden. It gives us great pleasure to share with you the fantastic work that was completed over the half term break; the grass area (mud bath at times) at the back of the cabin has been laid to artificial turf and so can now be used by the children in all weathers for a variety of games and activities.

A massive thank you to Farthings Funerals, The Co-op Green Token Scheme, Matthew Hicks (County Councillor) and the Parish Council for their contributions. Also to everybody who supported the Toddle Waddle, Duck Race and Camel Racing night, as well as anyone who gave a donation, purchased refreshments and raffle tickets from us at the Frost Fayre, Christmas concert, Summer Sizzler and sports day. All contributions, large and small, have made this possible – we are all very grateful.

The Rotary Club of High Suffolk have also been hard at work to support our garden project. They gave up their time over the half term break to wash and paint the entire fence surrounding the pre-school. They also built a raised bed in place of the old flower bed, so the children can now walk and balance their way around it, grow flowers and plants as well as dig and weed to help us keep it neat and tidy. It has made a fantastic difference to the garden so a huge thank you to all at the Rotary Club of High Suffolk.

Our fundraising doesn’t end there….

Fundraising is vital to maintaining the outstanding service and facilities provided by our lovely pre-school, so we will continue with our fundraising efforts and appreciate your ongoing support.

Did you know? If you shop online through easyfundraising.org.uk (select Debenham Roundabout Pre-school as the cause) a donation will be made to us every time you shop. Lots of major retailers have signed up to this fantastic service and best of all, it doesn’t cost you a penny.

Making Necklaces with Straws

This afternoon we made some necklaces using straws.  First we cut the straws into pieces, this was very funny because the pieces of straw ‘flew’ across the table!  The children were very good at threading the pieces of straw onto their wool and were very proud of their finished necklaces.

Mops in the Garden

Today we had some mops out in the garden with a tray of water (and the rain!), the children enjoyed ‘swishing’ the mops around the path , listening to the noise they made and ‘splashing’ them back into the tray.
