Week beginning 31st October 2016

Welcome back, we hope you had a good half-term break.

This term we are looking at colours, our first colour is black.  In the sand it’s all about birthdays, we can make cakes and write cards and party invitations.  In the water we can bath our babies.

The activities this week will include: a group P.E. session with glow sticks, playing sound games, Forest School activity, making black string pictures, glittery Diva lamps, using the play equipment on the field, making Vegetable Curry, Rangoli pictures, Firework pictures and making paperplate puppets.

Half-term Holiday

Just a reminder that there are no sessions at pre-school tomorrow (Friday 21st October 2016) we hope you all have a good half-term break and will see you back on Monday 31st October 2016.

Autumn Leaves

Following the success of the Toddle Waddle we’ve been using the leaves that we found to make some leaf pictures.  We have also been talking about leaf colours and choosing wool to wrap around leaf shapes for our Autumn display.

Toddle Waddle

We held our sponsored ‘Toddle Waddle’ today, thank you very much to those who joined us.  Despite a wet start we had a lovely walk around the field and collected lots of goodies to make some Autumnal pictures.  We will let you know how much money was raised after half term.

Autumn Walk

This morning we went for a walk around the field with our buckets, we talked about the different colours of the leaves and collected some in our buckets.  When we got back to pre-school we made some pictures using the leaves.

Week Beginning 17th October 2016

This week we are looking at some Meg and Mog stories.  In the sand we have cars, road signs and maps, we’ll be talking about why we need maps and what you find on a map.  In the water we can ‘cook’ and talk about the use of objects.

The activities this week will include: P.E. a walk on the field talking about Autumn, squirty bottle painting, sponsored toddle waddle around the field, counting out spiders, spooky silly soup, Autumn leaves, spooky spiders in the shaving foam and decorating a pumpkin.

We hope you can all join us for our sponsored Toddle Waddle around the school field tomorrow at 11am (Tuesday 18th).

Please note there are no sessions at Pre-school on Friday 21st October.

Baking

On Wednesday some of the children helped to pick the apples off the tree in our garden, today we made apple muffins with them.

Construction

This morning the children were building with the wooden blocks. They made a castle and were very imaginative and creative and put the fairies from the purple glittery sand in the castle.
