Half Term Holiday

The half-term holiday starts here, another reminder that there will be no Pre-school sessions tomorrow (23rd October 2015).  We hope you all enjoy the half term break and look forward to seeing you all again on Monday 2nd November 2015.

Song time in the dark!

As we’re talking about the colour black this week we made the quiet room dark and got the torches out for song time.  We sang ‘5 little men in a flying saucer……’ and ‘one black spider came out to play…….’

Week beginning 19th October 2015

This week the colour we’re talking about is black.  In the water this week we can ‘pour, fill and experiment’ using jugs and bottles.  In the sand we can make ‘cakes’.

The activities this week will include: P.E. – ball games, story sack, making a dragon, using our sound bags, playing greedy gorilla, drawing our portraits and writing labels, making witches hats and wands and building with mobilo/duplo.

Please note there are no sessions at Pre-school on Friday 23rd October 2015.

Yummy milkshakes!

As we have been talking about the colour ‘white’ this week, we made vanilla milkshakes to have with our snack this morning!    The children scooped the ice cream into the jug all by themselves and then used the very noisy machine to mix all the ingredients together. The milkshakes were very popular and virtually everyone wanted seconds!

Week beginning 12th October 2015

This week our colour is white.  In the sand this week we are playing with trucks and lorries and in the water we can explore floating and sinking.

This weeks activities will include:  Animal Boogie P.E., playing with magnets, making black and white pictures, Forest School, playing with a feely box, musical chairs with colours, leaf spray painting, making a large white collage, going on a worm hunt and making porridge paste.

Life sized pictures!

On Friday afternoon we did life sized pictures of the children (and Kath!) – we drew around each other, talked about the colours of our clothes, eyes and hair and found the matching pens and paint to decorate the drawings
